In its role as a credible speaker of the Qatari private sector and its policy of promoting qatars economy in the global market,the Qatari Businessmen Association participated through it’s General Manager Mr.Bassam Massouh in a seminar organized by the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development about the business opportunities available in Qatar.
Mr.Massouh addressed the attendees in a word describing the current economic situation and investment opportunities in Qatar.he explained the various incentives and reasons that make it beneficial to approach the Qatari market.such as the incentives presented by the government like tax exemptions ,stability and flexibility of foreign exchange and its rates,excellent telecommunications fascilities,as well as the presence of a stable economic and political climate that would make of Qatar an investment attraction center in the region .

QBA’s Manager explained Qatar’s farsighted economic vision in developing different economic sectors.in the industrial level it is developing hydrocarbon industries and industries that depend on the power sector.
As for the tourism and services fields ,Qatar is focusing on the development of elite and family tourism in addition to entertainment and conference tourism.in that matter QBA’s general manager pointed out that Qatar Airways is conducting six weekly trips between Doha and Athens.
In a step towards facilitating the business cooperation between the two countries an exchange of ambassador’s was agreed upon between Qatar and Greece and was declared during the seminar .
The secretary General of the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce Mr. Mohamed Elkhazmi said a Greek businessmen delegation is arranging a visit to Qatar to have a close study of the Qatari economy and possible ways of mutual economic cooperation. |

The Qatari Businessmen Association in its premises on the 20th of February 2007,an official delegation from Macedonia headed by H.E Zivko Jankuloski the Deputy president for Education and Agriculture in Macedonia and included H.E Gligor Tashkovich the Mcedonian Minister for foreign investment ,the diplomatic representative of Macedonia in qatar Mr.Abdulkadar Memedi,and the Advisor to the Minister Mr.Ferki Demirovski.
The delegation was received by Shk.Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani QBA’s Chairman,and Mr.Bassam Massouh QBA’s General Manager .
The Macedonian delegation gave an explicit explanation about the economic climate and the advantages and benefits of investing in Macedonia.due to the economic policies implemented by the Macedonian government ,such as good taxation laws ,and the presence of free economic zone in which all economic and commercial projects are exempted of taxes along with the availability of skileed labour in the fields of construction,clothing,and agriculture.
The parties also discussed possible ways of economic cooperation and trade exchange in the fields of tourism and the exportation of agricultural products.
The Macedonian deputy president expressed his admiration of the economic development Qatar is witnessing due to the wise economic view oh his higness the prince of Qatar shk.Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.H.E also expressed his appreciation of the role QBA plays in the development of the private sector and and its earnest efforts in promoting this sector in the global economic committees.
At the end of the meeting the parties exchanged memorial gifts and QBA’s chairman was invited to visit Macedonia in order to have an in depth preview of the investing opportunities present. |

In its efforts to promote and encourage trade and investment relations between Qatar and the international business communities,the Qatari Businessmern Association represented by Shk.Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr.Juergen Friedrich ,Delegate of the German industry and commerce office.
The agreement aimed at strengthening economic relations between the two countries and encouraging further cooperation between the respective business communities in fields like trade and industry by organizing meetings between entrepreneurs and discussing in detail possible joint projects.
The MOU was signed in the presence of QBA’s Deputy Chairman Mr.Hussain Ibrahim Al Fardan,QBA Board Member Shk.Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani,and QBA Members:Dr.Hamad Bin Abdul Aziz Al Kawari,Mr.Sherida Saad Jubran Al Kaabi,Shk.Abdullah Bin Ahmad Al Thani,Mr.Mohammed Marzouq Al Shamlan,and Mr.Bassam Massouh QBA’s General Manager. |

In their aim of strengthening bilateral economic relations, between the state of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The Qatari Businessmen Association’s delegation consisting of Board Member shk.Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani ,and QBA Members Mr. Nasser Rashid Sraiya Al Kaabi, Mr. Sherida Saad Jubran Al kaabi, Mr. Ebrahim Al Neama, Mr. Abdel Hameed Mustafawi, Mr. Maqbool Habib Khalfan, Mr. Bassam Ramzi Massouh QBA’s General Manager headed by Shk. Faisal Bin Qasem Al Thani Chairman and the Vice President of Abu Dhabi’s Chamber of industry and Commerce Mr. Khalil Mohamed Foulathi, signed a Memorandum OF Understanding on the first day of QBA’s participation in Abu Dhabi’s Economic Forum that was held in Abu Dhabi from 5 to 6 February 2007.
In the MOU, both parties agreed on establishing a mutual and permanent committee. That aims at promoting and developing trade and investment relations, informing one another of the investment opportunities and joint projects possibilities on each side, and organizing training programs and exchanging experts. The MOU also noticed the ways the committee performs its activities such as holding yearly meetings and keeping permanent contact between the committee members.
Moreover, a meeting between QBA’s Chairman Shk.Faisal Bin Qasem Al Thani and Abu Dhabi’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce Mr. Salah Salem Al Shamsi was held in the second day of the forum, and revolved around ways of activating the MOU taking into account the mutual benefits of the two countries. |

A delegation from the Qatari Businessmen association headed by Shk.Faisal Bin Qasem Al Thani chairman of QBA held a series of meetings with distinguished Korean businessman during the Qatari-Korean economic forum that is taking place in Seoul South korea from Wednesday 31 January till Friday 2 February 2007.
The official Qatari delegation was headed by first Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E Shk.Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani, and accompanied by H.E Mr.Hussein Youssef Kamal Minister of Finance and acting Minister of Economy and Commerce.And included a group of prominent businessmen representing top Qatari companies.
The Forum is expected to significantly raise the level of economic cooperation between the two countries by utilizing Qatari resources through the Korean technical expertise experience,technology,and success in many fields such as biomedics,telecommunications,industry,and finance.Thus paving the way into establishing a strategic partnership between Qatar and Korea.
A memorandum of understanding was signed in the opening of the forum in the presence of first Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E Shk.Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani , H.E Mr.Hussein Youssef Kamal Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economy and Commerce,and the South Korean Minister of Economy and Commerce between Shk.Faisal Bin Qasem Al Thani QBAs Chairman and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) that includes 65 thousand distinguished Korean companies and has branches worldwide such as new York and Brussels. The MOU noticed the parties’ agreement on identifying opportunities of economic cooperation between companies of both countries .in addition two organizing meetings and exchanging delegations to view possible joint projects in detail
QBAs chairman shk.Faisal Bin Qasem Al Thani EXPRESSED HIS APPRECIATION TO THE KOREAN OFFICIALS for hosting the forum and hoped that Korea would become qatars business gateway to east Asia.
