The
Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Central Bank, Qatari Businessmen
Association, Qatar Financial markets Authority, and Doha Stock Market
have lined up together for organizing a conference on Investment Funds,
which will be held under the patronage of HE Mr. Youssef Hussain Kamal,
Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economy and Commerce, on
November 26-27, 2007 in Sharq Village.
As the five organizing bodies realize the
rising importance of investment funds not only in Qatar but also in the
whole region, they agreed to work hand in hand to shed more light on the
issues concerning funds and their impacts on the economic growth.
Therefore, the organizing bodies are determining to hold a world-class
conference aiming to educate business owners and professionals about the
different types of investment funds and the benefits for investors on
one hand, and to gather key fund managers and experts in order to
demonstrate the vast investment opportunities related to those funds on
the other hand.
Consequently, the five organizing bodies
agreed to set forth a two-days conference full of discussions and
debates on what are investment funds, how they work, what are the
difference between their types, which sectors they operate in, who
should invest through funds, what are the benefits of investment funds,
along with other vital topics.
The conference will bring together a
group of key think tanks and experts in the investment funds industry
from well-known regional and international investment institutions. They
all are eager to meet with the business community aiming to share their
knowledge and experiences, and also to advise participants on the
investment potential and opportunities offered by funds.
