Was Qatar Ambassador in India and Egypt during the period 1974 to 1978.   Represented State of Qatar as Ambassador at the Arab League in Tunis 1978-1980.   Was Ambassador of Qatar at the Court of St. James from 1980 to 1989.   He has represented the country in innumerable internal conferences and symposiums and has widely travelled around the world.   He has worked in the capacity as Under Secretary in Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Housing of State of Qatar.   He was Also Member of the Board of Directors of Al Ahli Bank.

Currently member of the Consultative Committee of GCC Head of States and also member of committee formed for the forming of the constitution for the country.   Also Vice Chairman of Mannai Corporation.

He is at present Chairman of Al Balagh Group of companies, which is active in the fields of construction, trading, engineering, joint ventures and representatives of international companies in State of Qatar.

Established in 1976, Al Balagh Trading & Contracting Co. W.L.L. commenced its existence as a joinery and minor works contractor.   But now, after 29 years AL BALAGH has grown into a mature, respectable business organization in the country having diversified business activities – construction, trading, engineering, joint ventures and representation of international companies operating in State of Qatar.   Having Corporate Office located in 'D' Ring Road, the company operates from their various sub offices, workshops, showrooms, warehouses and camps to cater the growing needs in its fields of activities in State of Qatar, which itself is undergoing a vibrant era of development.

• CONSTRUCTION DIVISION

Construction Division is the flagship of the company, which has grown over the years from a tiny maintenance firms to one of the best construction companies in Qatar with a grade 'A' classification, the highest grade by State of Qatar.  The company has proven track record of completion of a number of prestigious projects with outstanding quality in stipulated time.   Diplomatic Club for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Arts building for Qatar Foundation, Qatar Aeronautical College, Helicopter Terminal Building for Gulf Helicopters, Al Dana Gunnery Workshop at Sea Arm Base for Ministry of Defence, Training Centre at Abu Hamour and MATS Head Quarters at Wadi Sail for Qatar Telecom (Q-TEL) are few products of this division, which stands loud for the quality.   A landmark of Doha Corniche – Pearl and Oyster Monument is constructed by AL BALAGH, which is now featured on one of the newly issued currency notes.  A number of projects are ongoing and the division looks forward to still a brighter future to take part in vigorous nation building of Qatar, which is undergoing currently.

• TRADING DIVISION

This division deals in a wide variety of products in the field of oil and gas, industrial consumables, electrical, safety & security, building materials, tools, chemicals & lubricants.   AL BALAGH Trading Division established its roots in Qatar market since 1995 through representation of some internationally reputed companies such as Wiremold (UK) in cable management systems, Legrand (France) electrical fittings and wiring accessories, Bib Cochran (UK) boilers, Ventil (Netherlands) valve testing equipment, TITAN (UK) and Centaure (France) aluminium ladders and rolling towers, Haemmerlin (France) wheel barrows, Royal Arc (India) welding electrodes, Pezzol (Italy) safety shoes, TST (Sweden) gas mask and safety items, Kingspan (UK) raised access floors, Guardian Industries (Saudi Arabia) chain link fencing, Corus (UK) traffic barriers, Gunnebo (Sweden) security fencing, Anderol (Netherlands) lubricants, Arrow Chemicals (UK) cleaners / degreasers.  An exclusive 'Legrand Centre' has been opened in Musheirib, with a wide range of switches, sockets and electrical accessories of Legrand.   Three building materials showroom outlets and centralized warehouse with a substantial inventory of the regular off take items back up activity of this division.

• MECHANICAL DIVISION

AL BALAGH Mechanical Division is the youngest arm of AL BALAGH group engaged to provide construction and maintenance services to the oil, gas and industrial sector in Qatar.   Over the past 5 years of existence Mechanical Division has made inroads in carrying out successful contracts for clients like Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar Fertiliser Co. (QAFCO), QP Refinery, Qatar Liquefied Gas Co. (QATARGAS).  Mechanical Division has developed expertise and proven their capability to offer services like refurbishment of heat exchangers, valves, piping and rotary equipment.   They carry out small and medium EPC contracts for plant modifications like installation and commissioning of new pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, air in works and heat exchangers.   They have carried out specialized services like hydro testing, bolt tourqing / tensioning, hydro jetting, high pressure pipe welding and in association with partners high pressure HDPE pipelining, onshore diving, replacement of marine structures. They offer services like, tank cleaning, blasting and painting, hydro testing of pipeline, pipeline flooding and flushing, N2 purging, bolt tensioning, valve repairs, heat exchanger retubing, turn around shutdowns, lifting equipment repairs.
