QBA Members attended


On  May 21 & 22, 2007 and under the Auspices of H.H Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani  QBA  co organized along with the Ministry of Commerce and Trade & Iktissad Wa Aamal group the Second Qatar Economic Forum At the Sheraton Hotel Doha, Qatar.

The forum witnessed a huge success being attended by more than 1300 participants from the business an economic sectors in Qatar, the Arab World, and internationally. H.E Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani Prime Minister & Minister of foreign Affairs addressed the audience in the first session of the forum with a word discussing the present economic achievements and future prospects in Qatar.

H.E Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah ,Deputy Prime Minister &Minister of Energy Spoke to the forum on the current obstacles facing the oil &gas and the ways of developing that sector

QBA’s Chairman Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassem Al-Thani was one of the main speakers in the forum and was awarded in it’s opening session the Qatari business leaders award along with 5 Qatari key businessmen 3 of which are QBA’s board members Mr.Hussain Al Fardan QBA’S Deputy Chairman, Mr.Issa Abu Issa  QBA’s Secretary General,and Sheikh Nawaf Bin Khalid Al-Thani.

 The forum was a two days event and discussed various business and economic topics

Day 1 included four panels discussing the following subjects :

Panel 1.The Future Vision of Qatar’s Economy.

Panel 2.The Investment Environment and Future Role of the Private Sector.

Panel 3.The Road Ahead for Oil and Gas

Panel 4.Investing in Knowledge and Technology

 

In day two of the forum An interaction session took place with H.E Youssef Hussain Kamal Minister of Finance and acting Minister of Economy and Trade ,in addition to sessions that discussed subjects such as The Future of Qatar as Regional Financial Center,Opportunities in Real Estate Development ,and The Infrastructure Initiative.

The Forum was concluded by a lunch hosted by the organizers at the Sheraton Hotel Al Dafna Hall.
